Also there will be ramp closure at the intersection of Gateway Blvd, Lantana Road, and Hypoluxo Road. One ramp at a time will be closed for a period of 20 to 40 days each as the ramps are reconstructed. Advance warning of ramp work will be provided.

Construction Phasing

Phase I

North of Hypoluxo Road and south of 6th Avenue South noise walls along east sides of I-95 and north of Lantana Road will be constructed in this phase. Traffic will be shifted towards the outside of the existing roadway to accommodate the temporary road and bridge construction in the existing median. A temporary closure of I-95 northbound and southbound will be necessary to remove the pedestrian overpass north of Lantana Road. The closure will take place during off-peak hours, one night for each side, starting January 6, 2002.

Phase II

Phase III

North of Hypoluxo Road and south of 6th Avenue South. Southbound traffic will be diverted to the previously constructed median, and the northbound traffic will be on the newly constructed northbound roadway area as the road and bridge improvements on the southbound side of I-95 are constructed.

Phase IV

North of Hypoluxo Road and south of 6th Avenue South. Complete the construction of the road in the median as northbound and southbound traffic use the newly constructed roadway. All work from Lantana Road to the 12th Avenue bridge will be completed in this phase.

Phase VIII

Shift traffic to final configuration as the roadway is resurfaced on existing northbound and southbound I-95. Work will take place during off peak hours with temporary lane closures.
