Construction Phasing |
|
Phase I |
|
SR 80. Traffic will be shifted
to the outside. Remove all traffic separators and place temporary asphalt
in the median.
I-95. Traffic will be reduced to three lanes in each direction and maintained
on the existing roadway while work is being done on the shoulders and
in the median. Three of the four ramps will be reduced to one lane as
construction begins. |
|
Phase II |
|
SR 80. Shift westbound traffic to the newly constructed median pavement.
Construct new westbound lanes. Demolish and reconstruct westbound bridges over Stub Canal and I-95.
I-95. Traffic will be switched between the northbound and southbound lanes as needed for bridge work
being done above. Three lanes of traffic will be open in each direction. Ramp work will continue on
all four ramps. Temporary concurrent ramp closures on the southbound I-95 to SR 80 off-ramp and SR 80
to northbound I-95 on-ramp will be made as the connections to SR-80 are being constructed. |
|
Phase III |
|
SR 80. Shift traffic to the newly constructed westbound pavement. Construct new eastbound lanes. Demolish and reconstruct eastbound bridges over Stub Canal and
I-95.
I-95. Traffic will be switched
between the northbound and southbound lanes as needed for bridge work
being done above. Three lanes of
traffic will be open in each direction. Ramp work will continue on all four ramps. Temporary concurrent ramp closures on the northbound I-95 SR 80
off-ramp and SR 80 to southbound I-95 on-ramp will be made as the connections
to SR-80 are being constructed. |
|
Phase IV |
|
SR 80. Traffic will be shifted to the outside of the newly constructed
lanes while the median is constructed.
I-95. Traffic will be restored to four lanes in each direction as the road is being milled and resurfaced.
|
|
Phase V |
|
SR 80. The final lifts of asphalt will be placed during this stage.
I-95. Traffic will be shifted
to the outside as the median is reconstructed. |
|
Phase VI |
|
I-95.
Traffic will be maintained in its final configuration as shoulder
work is completed. Ramps will be completed in this phase. |
|
Phase VII |
|
I-95.
The final lifts of asphalt will be placed during this stage. |
 |
